Alfa Audit — serverless WCAG audits as a SaaS
Add a URL, get a prioritized WCAG 2.1 fix list. axe-core + Playwright running serverless, with scheduled re-audits and shareable reports.

About
Alfa Audit is the SaaS version of my open-source WCAG audit CLI. Users add sites, run WCAG 2.1 A/AA/AAA audits from the dashboard, and get a prioritized to-do list with severity, the WCAG criterion, affected elements and how to fix each one. Reports export to JSON/HTML/Markdown/PDF and can be shared as a public report page with an embeddable score badge. It shares one Supabase project and one Stripe account with Legal Craft so a customer has a single login across both compliance tools.
Problem
The European Accessibility Act brought WCAG 2.1 AA to a lot of small Swedish and EU websites whose owners had never run an audit and could not read the raw output of a developer tool.
Approach
Extract the audit engine into a published npm library with an injectable browser launcher, then wrap it in a normal SaaS: auth, sites, audit history, plan limits, scheduled runs. Spend the effort on turning axe-core violations into a ranked, plain-language to-do list rather than on the scanner itself.
Outcome
A working end-to-end product: serverless Chromium audits in production, a to-do report non-developers can act on, and a second product sharing one customer record with Legal Craft so the two can be sold as one compliance suite.
What's interesting
- Headless Chromium running inside a Vercel function (no external worker)
- Engine published separately as @belikenikola/wcag-audit on npm (CLI + library)
- Prioritized remediation ranked by impact and effort
- Public report pages and an embeddable SVG compliance badge
- Shared auth + billing with Legal Craft, additive-only migrations
